HTNS Buildings At Risk Fund

About: The Buildings-at-Risk Fund provides small grants, usually up to $2000, to qualified applicants for the repair of heritage buildings and sites. Grants are awarded based on a number of criteria. The Conservation Fund Policy explains who is eligible, what information is needed, and how applications are ranked. The Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia has adopted The Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada to guide it in making conservation decisions. Each application is reviewed individually and special circumstances are considered for the allocation of funding.

To apply for a grant: Fill out the Conservation Fund Application and return it to buildingsatrisk@htns.ca.

“The first time I saw this [restored steeple] I was so filled with joy to have it back the way it was when I was a little girl coming to church with my little hat on.”

All Saints Anglican Church, Leminster, Hants County needed help to repair damage to the steeple. Buildings At Risk Fund helped with a grant of $2,500 to supplement the $5,000 raised locally and 13,000 from the Anglican Church of Canada.
