New Board Members Sought

The Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia (HTNS) is looking for community members to join its Board of Directors. HTNS is a charitable organization with a sixty-five-year history of working to preserve built heritage and to educate the public about the value of heritage buildings and sites across Nova Scotia. The organization has helped ensure the preservation of iconic and ordinary structures alike. We partner with government, business, non-profits and educational institutions in work fulfilling our mission.

The Board is made up of representatives from across the province who volunteer their time on specific organizational projects and the governance of the organization. The Board meets every two months on Saturdays with committees meeting as required; remote attendance at Board meetings is possible. HTNS has a full-time paid Executive Director who oversees operations and supervises part-time staff and volunteers.

Our organization is tackling the challenges facing heritage buildings today, including pressures from development and neglect, and from climate change, as we pursue our efforts to preserve buildings that represent our diverse communities. We are looking for residents of Nova Scotia, who represent these communities and who are committed to the preservation of built heritage, to join us.

Letters of interest should be addressed to Board President Sandra Barss and emailed to contact@htns.ca by Monday May 6, 2023.

If you have any questions please email contact@htns.ca or call the office 902-423-4807.
